This is a photo of Novak Djokovic from the China Open that is going on right now. I could use this photo in Biology to get students interested in learning about the scientific method, such as independent and dependent variables, control groups, hypothesis, etc.

I could make up an experiment based on this picture. For example, if Novak plays on different types of courts his serve speed and agility are effected. Clay courts – he is less agile and serve is slower, therefor he doesn’t win as many matches. Outdoor hard courts – he is more agile and serve is faster, therefor he tends to win more matches. I could have the students point out the control group, independent variables, dependent variables, etc. I could even go into more detail by making up statistics and having them plot them on a graph to to learn about graphing data.
