I have actually embedded the music into the PowerPoint, but I cannot figure out how to upload to Slideshare, embed in the post here and keep the soundtrack attached. Any suggestions?

I’m not sure slideshare will let you do that in discrete pieces. You can embed audio for the whole slideshow – http://www.slideshare.net/msincome/adding-audio-to-slideshare So you could mix it in with your voice narration. Which might be a handy thing to know how to do.
