My name is Lesley Berry. I am originally from Ashland, Virginia a small town just north of Richmond. I studied Spanish at George Mason University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in 2006. I am currently in the Teacher Licensure Program at the University of Richmond. While in Undergrad, I studied abroad in Guanajuato, Mexico where I lived with a Mexican family and experienced the everyday life of a student in Mexico. This is where I discovered my passion for teaching the language. After returning to the United States, I began to take undergraduate classes in education and made my final decision to be a teacher at the secondary level. I feel that this is the career path in which I can accurately portray the importance of cultural awareness alongside a passion for a foreign language. I look forward to sharing my passion for the Spanish language in secondary classrooms in the years to come.
