In this lesson plan, the students research modern American citizens who have contributed to contemporary life. Using their research, the students create an enhanced podcast with narration and images that detail the contributions of the representative citizens. This assignment is an alternative to a traditional research paper, and it could work well for both auditory and visual learners. The end product is a podcast that the students can watch on their MP3 players, cell phones, or computers as a study aid for the unit test. I created the sample podcast as an example of a potential student’s project.
