I’m looking it as mainly as a vehicle for the teacher, but this story and the narrations could be easily reporduced by the students and or teacher.

Voice thread gives teachers the option of recording voice to pictures in story telling. I think this video the three little pigs is a popular story and has a lot of repetition and predictability that could help a group of 2nd graders prior to them reading the book.

I have compiled mulitple videos and audio clips that talk about the five senses. It’s a little rough and needs help with transitioning, but I think the children will like participating in a few areas and will be able to sing along.

Kelly Kim commented on the blog post 21st century skills and technology in the classroom 1 year, 10 months ago
I guess that is problematic because we are so driven by facts and are constantly measuring the value of everything we do. Creativity would be very hard to measure and may be impossible in terms of standard; there would inevitably be a lack of consistency unless we define creativity for individual projects or expectations. Innovation [...]

I think I would actually remove one or even both of those words. Tangy, I guess is more of a pleasant reference to something being sour and tart is a stronger expression. I like the freedom of moving the bubbles around and being able to make those connections. I think the bubbles could be used [...]

Students will learn common descriptive words that are associated with the sense of tasting. Students will share and discuss their favorite dishes while they look through different food magazines. If students are able to find dishes that corresponds to the various descriptive words, they can cut and paste the picture in the label.

I don’t disagree witb anything you say and yes I believe that if a student is able to critically think through problems and are creative, they are the ones to get hired first. I guess I wonder, if you have all of these, but lack social skills and are unable to effectively relate with your [...]

Kelly Kim wrote a new blog post: 21st century skills and technology in the classroom 1 year, 11 months ago
I am going to have to straddle the fence on this debate over implementing and instruction of 21st century skills and technology in the classroom and the average classroom environment today. Being skeptical by nature, I was able to understand Jay Matthews opposition to 21st century skills in his article, The Latest Doomed Pedagogical Fad; [...]

I would show this picture on a lesson about habitats. Children will look at the picture of this rainforest and guess what kind of animals, insects, or creatures that would live here. They would describe the climate, temperature, and explain what physical characteristics of animals would work best in this type of environment. -

Kelly Kim wrote a new blog post: How about share on slideshare? 1 year, 11 months ago
thirst We can always find ways to enhance our presentations and keep out listeners’ attention whether you are in or out of your classroom. How could we keep our audience engaged and stimulated while still get our message out that is both “loud” and clear. I was just browsing on slideshare and found a great presentation on water. Although [...]

Kelly Kim wrote a new blog post: 3 points for building presentations 1 year, 11 months ago
10-20-30 rule- keep the presentation limited to 10 slides, 20 minutes, and with the use of 30 or more points for the font size. A long presentation both in content and time duration could mean a lack of preparation or just simply too much information. It is important to keep things fairly simple and to stick to the [...]

I like this idea. It was very similar to mine. I think a newsletter is a great way to talk to your parents and keep them updated.
