About Me
Hello! My name is Kathleen Smith and I am pleased to share my online teaching portfolio and blog with you. I am originally from Princeton, NJ, but currently reside in the greater Richmond, VA area. I earned my BA in English from Rutgers University and I am currently enrolled in the Teacher Licensure Program at the University of Richmond. I plan on earning my M Ed. in Secondary English and Special Education by Fall 2012. I have always loved teaching and began my journey as a teenager teaching horseback riding lessons on my family’s horse farm. Upon graduating from Rutgers, I moved to Virginia and taught summer Reading Enrichment programs at the University of Richmond. Currently, I work as a Lead Teacher at the Goddard School on Mechanicsville and love every minute! In my spare time, I enjoy riding my horse, Zach, reading, exercising, knitting, cooking, and music. I am excited to share my philosophy of teaching, classroom management plans, lesson plans, and blog with you!
