Audio Activity and Lesson Plan

I have used this listening activity with my Spanish 1 students as a practice activity. They have been learning the vocabulary needed for talking on the phone and making, accepting, and declining invitations. This presents an opportunity for the students to listen for comprehension. After this activity, they are paired up and responsible for creating and memorizing a phone conversation for presentation to the class in the next session. Students watching the presentation will be responsible for answering questions based on each student presentation. This would allow me to monitor student comprehension and also to ensure student attention during the presentations of their peers. This worked very well in all of my classes last year. I have attached the lesson plan (I did it on the U of R lesson plan but have a bit more work), the worksheet for student completion, and the guide created in Webspiration for student reference. To follow is the link for the audio portion of the activity:

I have provided a link to the Guide that I created in Webspiration for the students. It is to be used as a resource for students to use when creating their phone conversation. There are notes for them (they show up only when ‘clicked’) in case they need a reminder about the vocabulary they need to use).  When you view the guide, you can see both the basic outline and the notes available upon selection by the students. Ideally, the students will be able to complete this assignment with minimal, if any, references need. If, however, they get stumped at some point, there are ‘notes’ embedded in most of the bubbles on the outline that will provide  a ‘trigger’ to help them recall the vocabulary needed at that point of the conversation. I have provided a snapshot of the guide showing the outline and also with all of the ‘notes’ activated.
